A Very Vergara Christmas
Sofia Vergara, the Colombia-born actress who’s been stealing hearts (and ogling eyes) as the beautiful Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC’s “Modern Family,” says a beautiful home, especially at the holidays, shouldn't break the bank.
“People shouldn’t have to spend a lot of money to make their homes beautiful,” Vergara says. “The new line feels very high-end and flows very nicely from bedding to the bath products … it really elevates both rooms and creates a beautiful environment.”
Her sultry, glamorous style lends itself easily to her design sensibilities and her products. Here, Vergara dishes on her own family traditions and how to make your home beautiful for the holidays.
Q: What are some of your fondest childhood memories of the holiday season?
Sofia Vergara: The holiday season really reminds me of family. It reminds me of growing up and being with my parents, brothers and sister, and it also reminds me of when Manolo [her son] was younger and celebrating the holidays with him.
Q: Tell us about how you celebrate Christmas nowadays. What are some traditions you always follow?
S.V.: One of the traditions I always keep is decorating a Christmas tree. I think Christmas trees are so beautiful and really put you in the mood for the holidays when you see that in your living room. I travel a lot for work now, but no matter where I am in the world, I always celebrate the holidays with family, especially my son.
Q: How do you prepare your home for Christmas? What are some essential decorating tips for someone who wants to create a beautiful holiday home?
S.V.: I definitely decorate for the holidays! Last year, I did the tree in all white lights with gold and silver ornaments. One tip to make the home beautiful and glamorous is to keep the same colors throughout the house. I used gold decorations all throughout my house last year, and it made the entire home feel like the holidays.
Q: What advice would you give our readers to stay sane during the busy and stressful holiday season?
S.V.: To stay sane during the holiday season, you just have to remember what is important. The most important thing is not shopping, buying gifts or worrying about what gifts you receive. Something so joyous and happy like the holidays shouldn’t cause you stress, it is meant to be enjoyed!
